As a trained Iyengar back care specialist, my role is to create a safe, supportive environment in which you can explore yoga as a path to heal and maintain a healthy back.

Weaving basic back care techniques and breath work, I help students build strength, increase flexibility and experience joy in their bodies. Learning about your back, alignment and habits through practice and the guidance of a specially trained back-care teacher is a good start to a having a healthy back again, and will serve as protection against future injuries.

Yoga for Scoliosis

Scoliosis is an asymmetrical curvature of the spine.

Private sessions for students with scoliosis can be incredibly helpful. Yoga for Scoliosis can reduce pain and help you find more symmetry and balance in the spine. Specific yoga postures and teacher-led adjustments create a feeling of balanced alignment which can reduce pain, create new awareness, stabilize curvature and even decrease the curvature. During each session, you will focus on your specific curve, learn to modify the postures to decrease a rotation in ribs that are overstretched, while creating strength and length on the concave side. You will leave with a sequence individualized just for you.

I am currently offering one group back care class on Zoom as well as in-person private sessions in my backyard yurt studio, set in a beautiful garden.

I am fully vaccinated and require that private students be fully vaccinated as well. I also offer private sessions via Zoom. I have a large monitor with makes it easier to see students.

My yurt studio is well supplied with official Iyengar props that can help you attain the full benefit of each posture.

Cost: $70.00 one hour

Location: My group back care class is currently being held on Zoom. Private sessions take place in my beautiful yurt studio in Santa Cruz, California.
